Our Beer For Christmas 2014

Heading into the new year Joe an I want to make a point to start sharing some more information on the great beer and wine we get here at the MEC on a regular basis. Our wine and beer purveyor, Gordo from Old Towne here in Louisville does a great job pairing our food and we want to pass on some of that to you. We can’t leave you hanging this Christmas and not tell you about a beer we’ve been enjoying here. The Christmas Ale from Great Lakes Brewery has been a favorite. The label says it’s handcrafted with spices and honey. So often in beers this time of year you get a fair share of pumpkin and then they roll into spiced beer for the Christmas season that are overly spiced with clove and nutmeg and ginger that they forget to taste like beer. Not so with the Christmas Ale. It’s moderately hoppy with a hint of spice that opens up a little more with the honey once it begins to warm up a bit. A great beer for Christmas and all winter long. Enjoy and Merry Christmas from me, Joe and all the Monogram staff.
