Our Favorite Bacons

Our Favorite Bacons

So it’s no secret that Joe and I love bacon.  Well, all things pork really. But bacon is at the top of the pork pile. We’ve written before about the pinnacle of our careers being “Camp Bacon” at the Brown Hotel.  The three day event that featured artisan bacons from Kentucky.  Delicious. It inspired us then to make our own bacon which we did but couldn’t compare to those we had tasted at Camp.  Since then we have tried our hands at curing, smoking and aging all kinds of meats with a modicum of success.  We thought they were good but then again we put a lot of effort into them so we would look for any redeeming quality they may have.  So however hard we try I doubt we will ever reach the bacon heights of some of our favorite producers.  So we thought we’d give you a list of some of our “must have” bacons.
1.       Father’s Country Bacon – Hickory Smoked or Peppered
2.       Scott’s
3.       Woodman’s – Regular or Jowl
4.       Broadbent
5.       Colonel Newsom’s
So you should be able to find all of these online but due to certain legal restrictions we are not allowed to link you to them directly.  Try one or preferably try them all.
